Tea and Toast
Tea and Toast is a event which goes on at the Hub where we meet for our main meetings every 'other' friday night from 10pm till 3am. The Hub is opened up and students are invited in to have a cuppa' and something to bite on after a hard nights clubbing. The students often also have something like a Wii, Guitar Hero or live music playing on and off throughout the night.
This is a good chance to get to know people and if you live in halls it's a good chance to witness to those you know around you. It's always a laugh and this event has proved increasingly popular with many people going out just to go to Tea and Toast at night. Towards the end of the year last year we were having on some nights close to 300 people passing through our doors. As can be expected this draws on all the CU to really be able to reach people of those kind of numbers and it is hard going all night but if the committee can.. and clubbers can.. can't you? Your CU needs you! Help out at tea and toast!!
Water at the Old Firestation
Bournemouth town is known for having a incredible amount of Nightclubs and the streets on any Friday night are always heaving with range of people out enjoying what Bournemouth has on offer. Every week a handful of eager CU members give up their friday night to give out water to students and anyone else who happens to be using the University's student Nightclub the Old Firestation. The CU has good relationships with the staff and students who regularly use the Old Firestation who are happy to make use of the CU members who come out time and time again.
